Moldex, a California-based manufacturer of respirators, earplugs and protective eyewear, has gone toe-to-toe with the biggest PPE companies on earth for decades.

They have their relentless innovation and commitment to providing a reliable, comfortable product to thank.

Moldex approached us because those stellar products deserved better marketing. They needed smart positioning and committed brand building, and that’s what Ivor Andrew is delivering.

// THE WORK

To begin, we interviewed Moldex staff, distributor partners and end-user customers to find out how they’re actually perceived in the market. With great research in place, we had what we needed for a full exploration. The first challenge was establishing a visual identity with enough flair and perceived quality that matched the superior user experience of each Moldex product.

This trio of options challenged the Moldex team and encouraged them to think about who they wanted to be going forward.

Ultimately, Moldex chose the tried-and-true blue, and leaned into a Pantone green which already had equity with the brand. We were off to the races for tactical execution. The immediate need: building the foundation for their emerging healthcare line and establishing proof of expertise in supporting these applications; with unique and ownable photography.

The cinematography team at Ivor Andrew has been instrumental in keeping the Moldex brand healthy, arming them with a new brand video and product-specific video content as well.

As we rebuilt the visual foundation of Moldex and drew more connections to “Why buy Moldex,” our team quickly updated collateral, syndicated updated brand guidelines, and organized a celebration of the brand surrounding a major industry tradeshow.
